Test for 4KQ WOT switch

Leigh, Pat, et al,

I just took a look at a perfectly stock '85 4KQ to verify the operation
of the WOT switch mounted on the throttle body.

With the stock cam, timing, and no black boxes on the FI system,
triggering the WOT switch on an idling NA 5 cyl. engine will introduce
enough excess fuel to lower the idle speed a noticible amount.

For those of you who wish something slightly more scientific may do the
following:

Unplug the connector from the WOT switch. When viewed from above, (as
it's normally connected) the wires are numbered 1,2,3 from left to
right.

Using a MM test the continuity between terminals 2 and 3 when you trip
the switch, it should complete the circuit. Alternatively, short the
contacts for wires 2 and 3 and seen if there is any difference from when
you tripped the WOT switch with the connector plugged in.

Hope I didn't confuse anybody! and feel free to email if you want
further clarification.

Gary
