Another CB victory

Just thought I'd pass along a little story about another *victory* with my
CB radio yesterday.

I was driving up I-95 north in MD toward NJ, and met a black Volvo 850.

We both were cruising along at about the same speed, alternating front to
back positions (but not racing... just mutually respecting each other I
suppose....). We were doing between 75-85 mph.

At one point, I slowed down to make a phone call (from my Nokia hands-free
with speakerphone) to listen to some voicemail messages. (Notice how
responsible I was... slowing down from 85 mph to make a call??!!)

He continued on...

Later on, when I was on the NJ turnpike, I heard on my CB radio that there
was a "smokey bear" hiding in the woods, on the northbound side, at the 15.5
mile marker. (Yes, the info is THAT specific.. it's awesome!!)

I then hear that this "smokey" is now rolling northbound. I of course, slow
down to the legal limit upon approaching said "yardstick", since he is still
in the area, and lo and behold, what do you think I see at the 16.8 mile marker?

Yep, the guy in the black Volvo 850... starting off the day in a bad mood....!!

Too bad (for him) that I slowed down... I would have flashed or signaled him
to slow down... Oh well....

Morale of the story: If you really want protection from "smokey bears", get
a CB radio to go with your radar detector. It really reduces the chances by
a whole heckuva lot (note: unscientific opinion).

Obligatory Audi content: The CB is installed very stealth-like in my '92
100S... someday I'll try to put some pix up on my web-page.

Thanks for listening.... I figured that if we can thread endlessly about
synthetics, lights etc... a quick story about a CB victory can't hurt!!

Happy Motoring!!
