RE: Dings

Thanks to all who recommending paintless dent repair. I had gone to two very
reputable body shops, one being an Audi dealership, and out of the 5 door
dings the Audi dealerships said none could be removed using the paintless
system and the other place said one of the dings could possibly be removed
with the system. The Audi dealership wanted almost $800 to repair the car
and the other place want $600. Both would of require major repainting
Thanks to the many tips I received I contacted Dent Masters locally. The
guy is mobile and did the repairs at my house. 4 of the dings were repaired
perfectly, 1 was on a seam and could not be completely repaired, but it does
look better. He originally quoted me $125 but felt bad about not being able
to completely fix the last ding and only charged me $100. I definitly
recommend it. The entire process took about an hour. He used rods of
various sizes, curvatures, and shaped ends. He explained he sometimes has to
drill a small hole in the side of a door or 1/4 panel to insert the rods, but
he didn't have to on mine. The hole is not drilled in an area that matters
and they do plug the hole. Then they place some contraption (looks like a
magnet mount with a rectangular reflector on a flexible arm) on the body near
the ding and they proceed to slowly push out the ding. Very impressive and
clean.
