I've had good luck with one of the so called "paintless" dent removal
methods of dealing with door dings. Someone experienced with this
method can almost completely eliminate most dings. It works best if
the damage is on the flat portion of a panel away from any seams or
creases. YMMV, but I was very satisfied with their work. And no, I
couldn't overlook a ding if the rest of the car is immaculate. We had
one on the passenger's side rear door of our wagon and it was the
first thing I noticed every time I walked up to the car.
