     I've had good luck with one of the so called "paintless" dent removal 
     methods of dealing with door dings.  Someone experienced with this 
     method can almost completely eliminate most dings.  It works best if 
     the damage is on the flat portion of a panel away from any seams or 
     creases.  YMMV, but I was very satisfied with their work.  And no, I 
     couldn't overlook a ding if the rest of the car is immaculate.  We had 
     one on the passenger's side rear door of our wagon and it was the 
     first thing I noticed every time I walked up to the car.
