Real World Power?

Fellow Quattrophiles;
	Hoppen Motorsports sent me a brochure of their current
offerings the other day. The 20v engine mods seemed the
same, yet the claimed hp was up by 10. ECU mod was 260,
now its 270. Ned told me (several months ago) that his
figures weren't obtained on a dyno. I'm not suggesting
duplicity, or even wishful thinking- but I am curious. Any
of you Vericom owners have any extrapolations? Anyone
else curious? Anyone have any data?
	On another note, I've found the recent dino v synth oils
interesting, but I wonder if we might do better to beat on
the K&N debate for a bit. All seem to agree that with
regular (good quality) oil changes our engines will provide
great service life regardless of oil origin. However, if
indeed dirt gets through a K&N, we may notice shortened
engine life. Moreover, it's a whole lot easier to peer past
our air filters and look for dirt than it is to look for
relative engine wear due to oil choice. Any takers?
