Delta Radio reset

When I picked up my mother's '91 100 from the body shop -not dealer -they
don't have their own (someone spunout in front of her and then fled the
scene), the radio read "safe." No problem, thought I. Didn't have radio
code on me so I called the dealer and they gave me the code. Tried it,
didn't work. Tried it again, didn't work. Called up dealer again and they
found radio had been replaced with 893-035-093B, gave me new code, but radio
was locked up "2 SAFE" on display, wouldn't even let me enter code. Took out
radio, let sit for 48 hrs, same story. Someone (wasn't there) at the
dealership told her they sometimes revert to normal after being left on for a
few days. I have a separate 120 AC to 12v DC transformer I could hook up,
since she doesn't need to have the car jump started. I know its ~$125 to do
the radio exchange, but since it wasn't our fault (obviously recoding had
been attempted at body shop) I don't want to spend the money, and she doesn't
really want an aftermarket radio.

TIA
