Alarm IR sensor question

Does anyone know how the IR sensors on the A6/100 or V8 are connected. I was
told by a ICE person that the RHS is in series with the LHS by a wire link that
goes over the roof. My RHS does not respond while the LHS works as specified.

So before I purchase a new sensor, I thought the list might have some inside
knowledge as to how these things are linked up so that I can do some harness
tests before I get a syndicated bank loan to pay for this work.
