Spring cleaning and braking

To all fellow listers,
Once again, I strike. Hood open, cans-a-spraying, tools-a-turnin', and
knuckles-a-bruisin' I go about performing a general and random spring
engine cleaning. Off come hoses, out comes the K&N, and some things
actually get cleaned and lubricated. But, as a rule of thumb with me,
when one or more things are fixed or cleaned, usually I brake at least
two.
First the fixed item. I have to thank Steve Buchholz AGAIN! He once
again is the wonderous solver of my major concern. When my CGT was not
even running, he diagnosed the cause. Once the CGT was roadworthy and
had a fresh SYNTHETIC ;) oil change in its belly, I returned to worrying
about why my supid, f%$# trip computer wasn't giving me the right MPG
reading. Then I remember some lister stating in a past post something
about cleaning the airflow sensor to regain correct MPG, so apart comes
the airbox, out comes the K&N, and in goes a whole bunch of fuel
injection cleaner to loosen up whatever. Sure enough, the thing is
dead-on-balls again! :) So then I have to go back through the cyber
trash to find out who suggested that effective remedy, and . . .yep,
it's Steve again! TY, Steve! So if anyone is experiencing readings that
are way off, try cleaning the airflow sensor by spraying up from
underneath, and clean the venturi tube(?) while there.
	Now what I broke. While cleaning/exploring, I got to a switch/sender of
something and found that it and its wires, being under the ISV, were
covered in oil sludge. So I decided to pull the rubber boots off of the
wire connectors and spray the heck out of them. Well, they happen to be
in a tight spot and while wiping them clean, I end up hearing that
dreaded "snap!" So I need to know what the connectors go to on my 2.2 I5
N/A Coupe GT. The area in question is at the back of the engine, under
the rubber maze of hoses, right at the back-left(if looking at the
engine from the front of the car) CORNER of the valve cover. It is
slightly depressed(sort of like me ;) into the cylinder head and its two
wires are seperately wrapped with rubber boots. The wires coming out
from the sensor/swith/sender(?) are brown and brown w/ green stripe and
go to a wire loom and then go to where-ever. What is this sensor thing
and if it is not self-explanatory, what does it do?

					TIA! Allan
