The White Feather
Awright, I have shown the white feather - revealed the yellow streak
up my back - similar expressions of de-feets.
Today I dropped off the 200 at the mechanic's for HIM to find the
d**n clunk that has been bugging us for more than six months. I am
95% confident he will have to install the inner control arm bushings
and sway bar end bushings I left him.
Whether he needs to do ball joints, tie rod ends, etc - none of which
I have found definite fault with - is up to him. I just want the thing to
STOP going clunk. I left a 2.5 page letter documenting every part I
have already replaced and every diagnostic I have done, as well as
my conclusions and the reasons for them.
Hopefully, late this week I will have it back and it will be silent,
"front-end-wise".
My gratitude to Eric, Igor and others for the many thoughts they have
shared and the help they have provided....at least these helped me to
eliminate a number of possibilities.
