still got a clunk
Driving me crazy... after all the work I had done last week,
and tightening the control arm bolts on Sat, there is still
a clunk. Here's how it goes:
70mph, straight
quick turn to right, nothing
quick turn to left, clunk
ditto
ditto
It's most noticable when doing sharp left turns (ie into a parking
lot). I feel it in the floor, so it might still be the control
arm. Also, I get this shimmy/shake (top of steering wheel moves
up/down at 70mph) that is always present but seems to diminish at
times.
I just reinstalled the D60A2s (less than 3k miles) so it's possible
that they are unbalanced, but unlikely (on MSW rims, balanced last
Nov).
Do these two "symptoms" sound familiar? My mechanic is about 45mins
away and busy as always...
Spent part of Sat/Sun installing the triple gauges in the console
of the 84 4kq, relocated diff lock pull and lights to the lower
dash panel, just to the right of the wheel. Had to splice the lights
and redo the vac. lines, but it looks pretty good. Thanks to everyone
who donated parts :)
