Re: Reliable British Cars
Generally speaking that is an oxymoron, however I do have the
remains of a '73 MGB GT which was the exception to the rule (until my
teenage son got to drive it). I got it with about 75K on it and put
another 50K without any problems. Just had to religiously do the 1K
servicing (no that is not a typo, it really is 1,000 mi service intervals).
Then again, I also ride a '73 Norton (am I stupid, or what) which does its
best to uphold the fine British traditions of falling apart while moving
and marking its territory when stopped. The only way to keep from being
stranded by that one is to cut the service interval to about 500 mi. Hey,
it's a good excuse for buying more tools!
