Yep. I don't know if it matters about warpage, though. I've never heard
of any NA Coupes/4Ks with such problems. (not stressed enough, maybe?)

Nope, so I cannot have a really objective opinion. Still, I think the
'87 Coupe GT with the 130hp engine must accelerate faster than the '87 4Kq
(unless the rumors of a 2.3L 4Kq are true). It is lighter and has +15hp.

Oh, I do lust for an ur-q, just decided I cannot really afford one (after
some VERY hard deliberation about an '84, recently).

I have always been interested in getting a Coupe GT and 4Kq on the same
track for a head-to-head comparison. In discussions with Luis Marques, a
friend with an '87 4Kq, we decided that the Coupe GT would have a little
advantage in the straights because it was lighter, but the 4Kq had a bigger
advantage in the curves. You have had significant driving time in each
car, so what do you think?
In real-world driving, though, you would probably not notice the
acceleration difference. In that case, quattro would be the dominant
factor. Still, the Coupe looks so much _nicer_ than the 4Kq, IMHO (I
am not real fond of sedans). What I wouldn't give for a European-type
Coupe Quattro (Coupe body with 4Kq running gear, what a combo!)...
However, if I could find myself a nice 4Kq for sale around here, I might be
swayed to your opinions on it. :)
Later,
Eric
