To that I reply:
Check out the VW TDI endurance racer.  170bhp, something like 200 (or more,
can't remember) lb/ft of torque.  Super low fuel consumption (a boon for
endurance racing) and reliable.  It has been winning races in Europe and
Canada.

It's a cool looking oil burner too - fitted out like my GTI (will "smoke"
my car in a drag race though).
