On my Coupe (and my previous Q, an 87 5kcstq) I gently press my knee against
the body side molding to compress the door seal and then pull the trigger.
 This unloads the tension on the mechanism and it moves very smoothly then.
 Works well on the 200 too.  Ditto on the cold weather issue.

For Bob D.:  Still a good idea to keep it lubed, though!   ;-)
