Sunroof Joy

After a year of fighting with a malcontent sunroof and a bare metal trim
panel, I can now unequivocally say I am a bonified sunroof apprentice. I
still need to go back and install a new set of guide rails and cable set to
achive perfection, but the deed is done - it works AND looks good. One of
the major problems was bent guides on the rear water tray. For those seeking
new cables - if you have metal actuating ends on your cable and find
plastic ones in the junkyard, grab the guide rails too.

There were several running changes over the years - best overall bet when it
comes down to it is to get the entire assembly from the junkyard. You won't
need the roof panel. Once all of the phillips screws come out, and the 2
screws for the motor assembly, the trim panel can be slid out after raising
the front of the assembly. The big galvanized bar slides off and the guide
rails just unclip from the roof. Then the entire assembly can be taken out
as a unit or in pieces.
