5 years off cars life?
This is really bugging me. We all know how dumb you feel and then shortly
thereafter, how bad you feel for your car when you miss a shift? Right?
Well, something happened last night that puts a misshift to shame!
I had just put new Razo racing pedals in my 4k and really liked the feel of
them. I was cruising along last night when a 240sx wanted to play. We
were both coming up on an intersection and the light had turned yellow so I
decided NOT to go through. I push in the clutch and start to brake.
Instantly my revs shoot up to around 7000 and I scrambled for the
accelerator with my toe and then went for the key. I can't honestly say
how long this happened for since it seemed like an enternity. I guess it
was around 2 seconds. My car ran fine the rest of the night, but, it did
make a clunking sound when I cut it off one time.
What could I have done? I don't know what overrevving does to the engine?
I am just hoping I haven't cut a couple years off of this engine. It has
around 115k miles on it and has had no problems, with the engine itself.
Thanks in advance.
