'86 4000s does the same thing to me.  Only on the left side light though.
On my car it just so happend that there is a little pop-off panel on that
side of the dash that gives me easy access to the bulb.  Very odd.  Almost
as if they addressed the problem by sticking a little panel there, just for
that bulb.
