Dash Lights

I have a 1984 Coupe GT.  I have this annoyance with the dash lights
going out.  About every 3 months I have to open up the dash cover and
adjust the light bulb holder(s) (usually just one side) so that it is in
contact with the plastic wiring piece so that the dash light come on
when the headlights are on.  I am talking about the two bulbs that light
up the dash.  Anyway they seem to lose contact every 3-4 months or so.  

Is there a way to keep that connection so I don't have to adjust it
every 3 months or is this just an inherant (?sp) problem with the
design?  URQ, 4000 owners, may be experiencing the same annoyance?
