Schrick Cam

I have a 1984 Coupe GT with the 2.2 liter I-5.  I am wondering has
anyone out there put a schrick cam in their 2.2 I-5 and what can I expect
as far as idling, performance gains & losses, mpg, unity with or without
a chip, general wear and tear.  My car is a daily commuter and I would
like to keep it that way, but want a little more "uumph" . 

My car is stock currently, and am looking at adding an exhaust and suspension
work soon.  It has 124K and I still average 22 mpg on regular unleaded
(Denver).
