I had a _good_ day today. The squeal coming from my hydraulic pump was
completely cured by a new belt, the passenger door handle that was
sticking in the "open" position proved to be a lubrication issue, not
a broken return spring, and the "stumble" that I've complained about
here over the last few weeks turned out to be a defective HT lead to
#3 cylinder. With karma like this, I elected to break the #1 rule and
tempt the Audi Gods:
"Never dick around with something that's working!"
Anyway, I disconnected and demounted my accelerometer to measure it for
you. It's Bosch #0 265 005 003 and Audi #443 907 388. The mounting
studs are fore-and-aft, and the accelerometer is mounted with the arrow
pointing forwards. At rest, and under acceleration, the circuit is
"made". Under braking corresponding to around 1/10th G or more, the
circuit is "open".
