Re: alternator V-belt-noisy,loose Adjustment (80/90 all)(100/200all)



Not sure if this apples to your situation, but I purchased several OTC
brand name belts that were what the parts dealers' books listed for a 91
100.  All squeaked terribly.  I later checked the owner's manual wheich
specified size 11.2mm x 820 belt but each dealer had sold me 9mm x 820s.
Audi dealer told me that the 91 early models used 9 and later 11.2. 
That might explain some other folks squealing problems.  The 9 mm in an
11.2 shive will ride on the bottom rather than between the walls and
squeal, get hot and eventually fail.
