Your 1987 sounds like a Commemerative edition 1986 Coupe GT. I don't
recall them making a 1987 with the red leather and white body. I may be
wrong. You should look at the VIN and make sure it is a 1987. Either
way, you are getting a great deal on a car. The digital dash started
with the CE 1986 and was available in 1987, and if I recall, it was
better than most digital dashes out there.

Yes the reverse lights are controlled by a switch in the transmission
housing. It may also be fused in the tail light housing in the trunk.
Nothing a screw can handle to make the connection again.

Sounds like some more freon will help your A/C, though make sure the
tubes are not cracked from non-use. That replacement can be costly,
especially since you now have to go to a certified A/C person, like a
dealer, to get the work done. My A/c cost me $400 dollars to fix.

The best thing to do is to have a reliable mechanic check it out.
