$25 Turbo! (Convoluted!)

Went to my favorite parts yard Saturday, needed a handful of little plastic
bits.

Sometime in the past, someone repainted my car (86 5KS), and the clear
coating on the trunk lid peeled and generally looked awful. Quotes of $250
or so to repaint it properly (Ouch!)

One of the donor cars (87 5KT) had a perfect trunk lid in the same color as
my car, so I bought it for a whole $25. (No market for Audi bits here.)

Installed it in about an hour (wiring, alignment, etc.) and now my properly
painted silver trunk lid says "Audi 5000" on the left, and "Turbo S" on the
right - lens all across the middle - so for $25, I've got a turbo! (Who's
cheap? Yes, and it makes 500 HP, too. ;-)! )

Anyway, the color isn't quite an EXACT match, so my dear bride said that I
ought to just go get the car painted. I told her that to do it right might
cost as much as $500, and she said "Go ahead. The car's really nice, you
like it and plan to keep it. You ought to do it."

!!!!!!

I plan to keep her, too.
