Rob, Go back to that "dealer" ( I am assuming here it is an Audi dealer)
and tell him to pull the radio, takes about two seconds, and get serial
number off of it. This can be done without disconnecting the unit. He
has a source to obtain the code. I did that very thing with my '91 200q
and received the code by mail within a week. BTW, I did this because I
wanted to play around with getting the radio hooked up to the ignition
switch so the damned thing turned off when I shut the car down. It works
that way now and I never did have to recode the radio.
