S4 Timing belt

This is a question that no one but you can possibly answer.  It's a risk, and 
it's not easily quantifiable.  The odds are that you will make the 3,000 mile 
trip (and perhaps another 20,000) without any problems.  Failures are _very_ 
rare.  But _very_ expensive.
 
But - you have to change the belt anyway, either before or after the trip.  
It's your call.
