Hi!
Hi everybody!
I have just recently entered the wonderful world of Audis. Not that
long ago I purchased a used 1990 Audi 90 Quattro 20V with 110 000 Km
(um, say, 69K miles). 16 000 Km later, I think I have decided that I
really enjoy my car. Having equipped it with snow tires, it is a dream
in all the snow that we get here. It is a fantastic car to take
skiing. I haven't had a chance to drive on dry roads yet, but it looks
promising. There is nothing quite so much fun as cruising along
quietly in 5th, then dropping a couple of gears so that it lands at
4000 rpm and rocketing off. I love the sound of the engine at full
throttle! And then the roar from the airbox when you shift. Ah, yes.
It is a far superior automotive experience than my previous stead (a
1988 4WD Subaru Justy, 1.3 litre, 9 valve, 3 cylinders and the last
commercially available automotive carburetor in North America). On the
downside, I don't quite enjoy the expensive service (like the $700CDN
master cylinder replacement). Nor am I overwhelmed by the car's small
trunk and mediocre driving lights. Nor do I derive a tremendous
amounts of aesthetic pleasure from the car's appearance although its
nondescript looks and bland charcoal metalic paint keeps me from
getting noticed. Which has been very useful several times (see part
above about me enjoying the car...). Prior to getting my own Audi, I
got my parents hooked. My mother drives a 5 speed '96 A4q2.8 in dark
metalic green (not that weird lighter green the '97 cars have).
Anyway, I just wanted to say "hi" and that I've been reading the
quattro list for a while.
