Alright, I'll confess, I got a set of 16" wheels recently. They came
off another rather swift sportscar of questionable origin, and they are
16x8.5 ET35 and 16x7.5 ET45. I had to put the 7.5s on the back because the
fenderwells are in the way of the 8.5s. The 8.5s fit just fine up front
with 245/45-16 D40M2s. The D40s on the back are 225/50-16. Believe it
or not, it all clears, although, I should also add that I have about
1.5deg of neg camber on the back. If it weren't for that, the tires
would touch the rear fenderwells.
I also tried a chip mod instead of my regulator hack on the wastegate,
and my boost went down (I expected that) to 14 psi, but the problem is I
am now getting some overboost which the ECU doesn't seem to be able to
handle, and occasionally I get fuel pump cutoff, which I hate beyond
belief! I also miss the power I had at 17-18psi, so I am looking into a
higher range pressure sensor so that I can write an EEPROM that will give
me 17 - 18 psi with fuel pump cutoff at 19psi. I'll also use a bigger
wastegate solenoid possibly to see if that helps the ECU control the
boost easier.
The last major toy recently is the new 3" exhaust system but that isn't
quite done, so I'll report on that later when it has proven itself. I'm
trying to buy Dynomax mufflers tonight, and noone wants to sell them to
me at a reasonable price - they all want retail! The nerve! :-)
Alright, Alright, the wheels came off a nassiN 300ZXTT. They look good
though, kinda has the spirit of the RS2 with those big 5-spokers! You
can see Bob D's crossdrilled rotors in there now. You can also see the
pathetically small brakes...
