Re: 86 Coupe GT C.E. gaudy NOT!!! (long)

After owning, driving, and repairing a "Comm/Ed Coupe, since newly
purchased from dealership in 1986, I can say with all my heart:

"I prefer the "ALL BLACK" interior I now have to the red leather!"

(Although the door panels were quite an eye-catcher!)
I never really liked the red leather seats. The combination of colors
for the interior
were definitely "stand-outish".

Well my drivers seat fell victim to, too many "butt-miles" and began
to crack, typically
on the side bolsters. I began a search in earnest to find a
reapolstry shop to
bring new life into the seat, but to no evail. Most wouldn't
guarantee the color match,
or wanted in the neighborhood of $500 per seat.(Could get a Recaro for
that)
The passenger, and rear seats were emasculit. A family friend in the
apolstry business made me an offer I couldn't refuse(Complete interior
$375, my choice of fabric) So I went with the black cloth to match the
black trim!

Gives the car a whole different feel and look. (especially at night)
And after
"Seeing-Red" for 8 years I really like it better! Plus the cloth
keeps you from sliding all over, singeing you flesh in the summer, and
cold shock in winter!

Now that I have the Recaro's(in Anthracite) I'm glad I had it done!

Wouldn't mind getting ahold of a set of the "Comm/Ed" 4KQ seats with
the black
cloth and "Quattro" writing inlay!
