If you do not need the middle fresh air vent, than you can install 
three stock VDO gauges in there.
I took the stock FWD Coupe GT's gauges and mounted them on a flat 
piece of plstic that was painted brown to mach the dash and than cut 
to accomodate the gauges.  
I saw a simular set up on a Davaid Luwellin's (sp?) Coupe Quattro rally car 
shown on the "Rally Experience" video.
It takes a bit to remove the vent and the piping that supplies the 
air to it.  As well you have to plug the holes or you will get a 
constant breeze at your legs (might be good in Florida but not here 
in Canada).
The best part about it is that it looks stock and is right there in 
front of you, (little to the right) deffinetly better than down in the 
console.
