Gauge location in cabins

I don't want to mount any gauges on my 86 4csq, but the image of an
aircraft cockpit flashed into my mind as I read the posts, and I didn't see
anything written about mountings above the rear view mirror, or on the
front pillar on the driver side. And there is that flat spot on the far
left of the dash, where a radio speaker grill is mounted.

And,couldn't that speaker be mounted elsewhere? And how about a mounting
bracket/strip running from the top of the windshield, toward the back of
the car, just below the sunroof, with access preserved for the sunroof
controls?

3 gauges across the top, above the rear view mirror, looks like a fit.


Just some off the wall (off the dash?) brainstorms.
