RE: 91 200q Brake Problem

This sounds like the same problem I had with my '90 90q20v. You can
expect things to get worse. Sometimes, while stopped at a red light,
you'll notice your car starting to roll. Pumping the brakes fixes it.
This was a sign that I should do something about it! In my car, the
problem was remedied by replacing the master cylinder. A post mortem
revealed that the cylinder was in very bad shape and bypassing!

Furthermore, I also had the brake light come on if I jabbed the
brakes. The garage checked this and determined that the accumulator
also needed replacing. HOWEVER, they did not have the part in stock
and since it didn't seem like a potentially fatal problem, we put the
job off. Now this is the interesting part, because since the master
cylinder replacement, the brake warning light has only come on once or
twice and not at all in the last three weeks! The garage has checked
everything over. It appears that the problem has gone away. I'm not
sure but perhaps the accumulator was only having a rough time when the
master cylinder was bummed out. Any theories?

is now happy with just one)

I can report the same thing with my 91 200qw. And if I understand
Kerry
correctly, the first touch of the brakes is by no means long enough to
heat
the pads.

Also if I jab the brake pedal quickly, I get a brief flash of the
small
rectangular warning light that says "BRAKE" in its middle.
