The ABT/Audi taxi piece is actually just a replacement top cover for
the early style instrument cluster pod. The new style instrument cluster
pod does not have a top cover like that of the old style. In order to
use the ABT piece you would have to use the old style cluster pod.
I don't think the old cluster pod would mount to the new style dash
in an acceptable way... since it has a different shape than the old style.
Moreover, I am not even sure the old cluster has the same electrical
connections as the new ones. This is especially true since you have
the LCD digital version...
IMHO the new style dash looks quite attractive as is. It has much nicer
textures and feel than the old style. I know of quite a few people who
have done a complete swap from the old style dash to the new. You really
wouldn't want to go the reverse direction just so you can use that
ABT/taxi piece.
For a boost gauge, a single-gauge pod mounted near the bottom of the
driver's side A pillar seems to be least intrusive option, and can
be made to be reasonably attractive.
