With respect, that's one thing we _don't_ know.
 
We know there was no explosion and fire, and no death or injury at the scene.  
But we don't know if there could be any long-term effect.
 
No - it's not me, so it's not my business.  But anyone with commitments 
(partner, children, etc.) has a kind of moral duty to them.  And if, as a 
result of this incident, fulfilling that commitment has been made more 
difficult or less likely then I would say it's not just "details".
 
Don't forget - it's not just a physical issue.  You can relive exposure to 
extreme danger again and again.
