Brazillian Control Arms
Need an opinion on non-OEM parts.
My mech and I want to gussy up the underpinnings of the Coupe's front end.
New ball joints, tie-rod ends, and we were going to do the control arm
bushings. Well, we looked at the labor for chiselling out the old
bushings, and getting the new ones in, and decided to look to new parts
instead.
Get this: a local Audi dealership wants $234.65 *a piece* for new control
arms w/bushings. Am I insane, or is that a really serious hit?
Another local store has the Brazilian parts, and they are but $40, without
bushings. Bushings are $8, and are a heckuva lot easier to get in than
out.
Has anyone used the Brazilian aftermarket control arms (I assume they are
the later, pressed kind, haven't seen one yet).
How much quality am I sacrificing?
TIA
