Lifters

My 1985 5KCST and my 1990  200 both have VERY quiet lifters...and I 
use only synthetic oils.  Guess I'm doing something wrong.

PS: I believe the spec on lifter noise requires the engine to be 
idled at 2000 prm or more for a few seconds *before* noise becomes 
an issue.  At start-up, if your litfters are noisy, it doesn't matter!
Idle the car at 2K+ rpm for about 15 seconds, then let it idle down 
again.  Betcha they're quieter when you let them get oil pressure up - 
like actual road use.
