I dunno.  What really torques me off, though, is how Audi's marketing
lets themselves be bullied by BMW's marketing.

I mean, the latest BMW commercial is just *begging* to be slammed
by a well-thought-out Audi commercial.  For those that haven't seen
the BMW television ad of which I speak.... picture a large Russian
freight ship, in the middle of a frozen see.  "She's locked in the
ice, sir", a crewman says to the captain.  Pan out, the freighter
is indeed completely surrounded by ice, as far as the eye can
see.  Then, a close-up shot of another crewman, examining the cargo
manifest.  A flash of excitement comes across his face, and he
points to an entry in the book and exclaims "Captain!".  In the
next shot, a stream of BMWs comes driving off the freighter onto
the ice, driven enthusiastically by the crew.

It's a good commercial.  But it should've been an Audi commercial.
It's clear that BMW is scared of Audi's comeback, and that their
marketing is taking direct aim at Audi. And they're getting away
with it.

BMWs on ice.  Heh.  Like dancing elephants.
