I have a '91 Audi Coupe with 34k miles. Last several weeks as I am driving
the car, the engine would instantly cut off and come back on again, several
times a trip. The situation progressively worsened so that today the car
just stalled at idle or even when the tach was over 3000.
The car did not restart until about 30 mins had elapsed. After this half
hour, I am not sure of it is the cooler temperature that allows the engine
to restart or some other issue, such as fuel evaoprating. The car would
restart, I would drive for couple of minutes only to have it stalled again.
I did replace the fuel relay as was recommended by the list, however, this
did not fix the problem. The car still has the original fuel filter and I
am thinking this may be
the problem?
Any other thoughts on what's most likely causing this?
Thanks,
Chris
