Re: 9020V Catalytic Converter Noise



My '90 90q20v is doing similar thing lately.  I thought it was the heat
shield, but I am convinced it is the cat.  The noise only occurs at 2,900
rpm.  I believe I had the same problem 2 years ago (80,000Km).  At that
time the dealer sent it out to Montreal for "rebuilt" ?? I don't know
exactly what they have done to it.  Does anyone know whether cat can be
rebuilt ??
Right now, the noise is not too bad. I don't know how much it will get
worse.
