A4Q Infant Baby Seat

Greg,

we were very happy with our infant car seat. I don't remember right now
what model it is, but it's the Evenflo seat with the twisted handle.
There were some Consumer Reports misgivings about it when used w/o the
base, but they reportedly fixed that and we never used it without the
base anyway. FWIW, we have 2 bases: one for each car, so we could just
leave that strapped in and swap the seat around as necessary.

It was used in a 94 Acura Legend and in the 91 200qw (both full leather
and very slippery).

Good luck finding a seat that works. BTW, the twisted handle on the
Evenflo is a back/arm/hand saver that I wouldn't be without.

Subject: A4Q Infant Baby Seat

I was wondering if any body out there can help me. I have searched the
archives but have been unsuccessful in finding a thread that deals with
the
A4 and an Infant baby seat.

For explanatory purposes, an Infant baby car seat is one that the base
is
buckled into the A4 and the top part serves as a seat and a carrier. It
snaps into and out of the base unit.

My wife and I are expecting our child in May and have been very
frustrated
in finding a secure infant baby seat for our 1997 2.8 A4Q.

We just bought the "Century Smart Fit" infant seat. When secured in
place
according to the manual, the seat if very loose. Note: I pulled the
seat
belt all the way out to active the locking mechanism in the seat belt.
The
seat was so loose that if we got hit from a side or an angle, the seat
would twist and turn all over the place. I can not believe that there
are
baby seats out there like this.

At first I thought it was due to the leather interior in our A4. Since
the
base of the Infant seat was plastic it was sliding all over. But then I
tried it in my 1997 Volkswagen (non leather interior) and it did the
same
thing.

If any body has a seat that they are happy with or can offer any help, I
would greatly appreciate it.
