'91 200q turbo cooling pump question

I was under the impression that there should be an electric pump circulating
water by the turbo after shut-down; haven't heard it yet.  Is it
thermostatically run?  I haven't shut down after any particularly vigorous
runs without letting the car cool down (while driving it).  How do I test to
see if the pump is working?

Also, what's the cheapest source for the bentley manual?  Anyone selling a
used one?  Anyone want to buy the one for my 4000csq (which is also for
sale)?  TIA, Chris
