Re: Puffs of smoke, turbos and all that

Sorta kinda Audi related, definitely Turbo related!!!

I have an 88 Toyota Supra Turbo (with 350hp!!) and I have just a couple
of simple tips for Turbo owners (mine is water-cooled as standard by
the way) :

1. Use synthetic oil (I know, I know now I've started the thread
   again...)
2. Always let it idle for a couple of minutes before and after driving
(yes, yes I know this is what they tell you but a lot of people
    don't do it).
3. If you have a secure parking area or, preferably, a garage.
Whilst it is idling, get out and open the bonnet/hood admire your
spotlessly clean engine :-) and give it a once over. Get back in
your car and shut it off AND LEAVE THE HOOD OPEN.

Thats it, no rocket science or specialized chemicals!!
Simply allow the heat to dissipate OUT of the engine compartment

My 88 looks like new and all the synthetic/plastic/rubber bits and
pieces are virtually like new and still flexible - Armoralling them
helps too by the way :-)

BTW - I do this with the A4q 2.8 also. (I wish that had a Turbo ;-0 )
