This is normal, the guage reads absolute.

This isn't good.  Cutoff should be around 1.5.  Your guage is probably
inaccurate or slow, but you shouldn't be able to hit the cutoff.

'goes like hell when it hits 3k'... sounds like you have an overboost problem.
