I dunno, take for instance the new Caddy. The "Catera" is not a
Cadillac, it is a rebadged Opel. See, The German cars _still_ stay on
top!
Yeah yeah. I know the catera isn't in that survey. But now that one more
domestic marshmallow barge manufacturer is out of the way I feel pretty
good.
I had some friends who were invited to the Catera test and drive press
day. There was a big wide slalom and a mini autocross and they invited
people to come a drive the Catera, A BMW 5-series, and an Infinity (I
think). Needless to say the Bimmer was the performance car of choice,
-but not by much-. Unfortunately, the event didn't allow for the cars to
be trully tested. You had to have a representative of Cadillac in teh
car with you at all times, and one of my friends was given a stern
talking to after getting the front right tire to squeal (just a little)
in one hard turn. His response? "I've driven more aggressively towing my
trailer with a truck!". He didn't think they'd have let him drive if he
had shown up with his helmet bag and tire gauge. Just thought I'd pass
that one along.
