have you seen the merkel reference in the may 97 ec mag?
pg 140 is part of the vintage views column by harry newton.
he describes the 18th annual tour de mulholland which is a new years day
jaunt for a coupla dozen "auto enthusiasts".
the author rides shotgun in merkel's fiat abarth 1300.
he described the car as "quite weatherproof" and merkel's driving style
as "reassuring" (it was the first new years rain in la for 42 years)
merkel's s.o. drove the moretti.  (she must have won the bet)
that moretti will stiffen your wood in a second!
i have just blocked out 4/17 for another viewing of the weiss
collection - hope i get around to checking out all the audis  =8)
