used 5K? What to look for?

I may be in the market soon for a mid-80's 5K or 4K quattro, in the US,
and was wondering what I should look at in the car before I buy it;
things that might go wrong soon, etc.

I remember seeing quite a few of these posts in the past, but I've just
spent over 30 minutes looking through the archives but have not actually
found one of the huge lists of stuff to look at.  Does anyone happen to
have one of these lists saved?  Can anyone help with the archives? 
Anything?
