While I can't answer the question on interior temperture as a function of
exterior color, the A8 has an option package that may be worth considering.
The Warm Weather Package includes a type of insulating glass that blocks a
high percentage of infrared wavelength (and nearly all UV). Underway this
will result in lower cabin temperature than normal glass.

The package also includes a solar array in the sunroof that automatically
powers the interior ventilation fan when the car is parked in the sunlight.
The data I have seen indicates that the combination of insulated glass and
solar sunroof can lower peak interior temperature substantially. Example: on
a 90degree F day in ful sunlight, a closed car can develop interior
temperatures as high as 165 degrees F. The ventilation fan and insulated
glass reportedly can cut the solar gain by nearly half.

So if youhave the bucks for an A8, why not spring for the additional $2000
and get the warm weather package.
