Reply: 4000 Turn signals to running lights

Somebody asked about this idea, and I can say from personal
experience, it works quite well. I changed my headlights to the twin
bulb euro styles, which loose the orange corner marker, so I needed
something to squeak me through a state inspection.

Anyway, this is real easy to make work, The bulb holder is already
set up for this, but you have to add another contact. Unfortunately,
you can only get the contact with the bulb holder, so buy two more
bulb holders, either new or used, and take one contact out of each of
two, and stick one each in the other two. Now you have the holder
configured properly. Next, splice the corner marker hot lead into the
previously unused wire on the turn signal plug that goes on the bulb
holder. The wire is already there, it just doesn't go anywhere (on US
models I'm assuming). Use an orange 1157 bulb, reassemble everything,
     and you're done.

I'm sure it technically violates US laws, because it can't be seen
from the side, but so far I have not been harassed by any cops or at
     inspection time.

     Have fun...
