Re:Coupe GT to Coupe Q!

Taking the floor pan rear quarter and welding it up to a non Q Coupe
IS possible! However, many more things come into play here than
a "simple weld-job" and off you go driving! I have seen an attempt
of this feat, and its is a horrendous undertaking! You need to be a
"gifted" welder/engineer/calibrated-eyeball kind of fellow, just to do
it yourself!

The labor and expense involved would be quite large $$$ for very
little return! For once you installed the Q running gear, you WOULD
next
need a Turbo motor! The stock I5 has a hard enough time with the cars
original weight, let alone adding 500 more pounds in drive train! It
would be "like driving around with four family members, and their
dogs" in you car at all times!(where have we heard that before)

In Europe Audi sold the "Non Bolstered fender" Coupe Q for quite a few
years! Looks "identical" to the US version Coupe GT, except for the Q

running gear! Although I have seen one here in the US, which migrated
here somehow, and its owner knows its value!

One would be better off acquiring a good used Ur-Q and restoring it!
Update its engine, increase the power, and you will be much happier
this route, than converting a Coupe GT to a Q!

My .02 pennies...
