The valve is a standard Bosch part. The hose is rugged and will never ever
have to be replaced. Costs for this mod range from 150-200.00. For a stock
vehicle driven with some moderate ferver, probly not worth it. If you plan
on serious boost, very necessary.

The blowoff valve taps off of the throttle body hose and directs air back to
the inlet. The pressure 'spike' caused by the throttle plate going shut
under high boost conditions can
1. - blow the ends off yer intercooler
2. - blow yer throttle body hose
3. - stall the turbo as it rebounds backwards - not good for the turbo vanes
and bearings.

So by installing the blowoff, you avoid the above. The turbo remains spooled
up so you don't lose boost during shifts as the back pressure wave is gone,
and the turbo intake actually becomes slightly pressurized with the
redirected air. Standard on S4/S6.

The TAP hose needs some redesign. I am going to talk to Ivor about it.
