Re: my 83 urQ (exhaust)
Just to add my $.02:
I had my system custom made in Connecticut for $400. Mandrel bent stainless
steel tubing, no center resonator, custom stainless rear muffler. Although
I'm not happy with it because its too loud, he really did a nice job bending
the pipes. The earlier system had been hacked together and was completly
rusted out. The original pipes were gone, so even though he has a 3D
digitizer to feed data to the computized pipe bender, the model that he was
working from was very poor. He and his helper spent all day making it fit,
and he stuck to his original quote of $300.
After his experience, I don't think he ever wants to see an UrQ again, in
fact, I believe his words were fairly specific about that! On the other
hand, he does now have a disk with the bending data on it, so perhaps he'd do
another now that enough time has gone by to heal his wounds.
The company is called Time Valve. They are located in Eastern CT, just west
of rt 395, and specialize in mail order exhausts for pick-em-up trucks.
I'll try to dig out the phone number if anyone really wants it.
